I am able to perform, without more than normal supervision, the following duties:
full range of over-haul, repair work and preventive maintenance repairs on heavy duty mobile equipment and vehicles to include internal combustion engines (gasoline, butane, diesel and multi-fuel). Disassembles engines, transmissions, suspension and brake systems, fuel system failures, tires for all types of equipment, and electrical systems (12 & 24 volts). Able to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment using schematics (electrical, fuel, hydraulic and air), computerized diagnostic equipment and hand tools of the trade. The following job elements should be possessed to be adequately qualified for this position:
Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, and Repair Knowledge of Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Use of Measuring Instruments Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc (includes blueprint reading) Ability to Use and Maintain Tools Ability to Troubleshoot PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Works in tiring or uncomfortable positions for long periods. Work requires frequent bending, reaching, stretching, climbing, and crouching. At times, works on top of or under vehicles in cramped or awkward positions. Performs strenuous work while standing, lying or sitting. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds, and often puts forth similar effort in pushing, pulling and depressing of various hand and foot controls. WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed inside and occasionally outside and subject to extreme weather conditions, in cramped and awkward positions; shop area is frequently inadequately heated; work is dirty, greasy and noisy; possibility exists for injury from dropped units and parts, slipping tools, slipping from work position. Inside work is usually performed on concrete floors and involves frequent exposure to exhaust fumes. Prescribed safety practices and safety equipment is used; protective hearing devices, hard hats, hard-toe shoes, gloves, respirators, and protective clothing. Some of these safety items may be uncomfortable to wear or use, and may be worn or used for long periods.
